He was a three-time All-Star and the 1971 National League Cy Young Award winner. In 1991, Jenkins became the first Canadian to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. During his 19-year career, he pitched for four different teams (Cubs, Phillies, Red Sox & Rangers) spending the majority of his career with the Chicago Cubs. Jenkins also played basketball in the off-season as a member of the Harlem Globetrotters, from 1967 to 1969.

Below is a letter written by Tyrone Keys.

Steve and Mitch, I am very thankful to both of you and each fan who came out yesterday to Sports City Memorabilia to support the mission of All Sports Community Service foundation in helping the next generation parlay the game from the field and classroom to the Biggest Game of all ....Life. Thank you and Sports City Memorabilia, for you are now friends for life to the next generation and have truly exhibited my grandmother's quote "Once a task begun, never leave it until it is done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all." The funds raised yesterday will be used to match the All Sports Community Service alumni and Lee Roy Selmon scholarship fund for first generational college students who aspire to become teachers and coaches and champion mentors to the next generation. 

Life truly does come full circle Steve, as you were great to work with 26 years ago with the Good News Bears basketball team, assisting in parlaying the game from the court to the success of yesterday's scholarship fund-raiser. This is a real blessing and no doubt a destiny.

ALL SPORTS COMMUNITY SERVICE FOUNDATION's mission is to  offer challenged youth the opportunity to determine their own destiny through scholastic achievement, community service, and sports.  The main goal is to offer first generation college-bound students and student athletes the opportunity to get accepted and graduate from college, become productive citizens, community servants, and mentors for others.

In 1983, he signed with the Chicago Bears as a defensive end where he remained through the 1985 Super Bowl XX Championship year.  He was the keyboardist in the Super Bowl Shuffle video, which was nominated for a GRAMMY Award and sold over a million copies.

Tyrone's life work encourages Academics, Community Service, Sports and Significance. He's parlayed the biggest game to the game of life by awakening the social consciousness of students ASCS. Two decades later many of his early students have become champion mentors, teachers and coaches, providing a lifeline to the next generation. He calls these individuals who come back to give back:  Now Friends For Life ("NFFL").  They are continuing the legacy of his grandmother who said: " Once a task begun, never leave it until it is done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all."
